New York Sportsbooks Report $214.4 Million in July Revenue

New York’s regulated online sports betting market generated $214.4m in gross gaming revenue during July, according to the New York Gaming Commission. The state’s eight licensed operators processed $1.88bn in total wagers, marking a 34.3% increase compared to the same month last year.

The monthly handle decreased 16.7% from June, when operators recorded a record $2.25bn in bets. Despite the lower wagering volume, July revenue rose approximately 83.5% month-over-month, driven by an improved hold rate of 11.4%. June’s hold had stood at 5.19%, yielding $116.8m.

Six of the eight market participants reported higher monthly earnings than in the previous period.

Operator Performance and Market Drivers

DraftKings led the market in wagering volume for the second consecutive July, capturing $661.5m in bets. The platform maintained an 11% hold, generating $72.9m in gross revenue. FanDuel recorded the highest monthly earnings at $86.1m, processing $651.2m in wagers with a 13.2% hold. Fanatics Sportsbook saw a 129% revenue increase to $21.1m from a $221.6m handle, while BetMGM produced $15.6m from $138.3m in bets at an 11.3% hold.

The July figures reflect a seasonal shift in wagering patterns following the conclusion of the NFL, NBA, and NHL campaigns. Major League Baseball remained the primary domestic sporting draw, while the 2026 FIFA World Cup across North America provided additional betting activity. Three-way moneyline markets, including Spain’s victory over Argentina in the tournament final, contributed to the stronger overall hold rate for the month.
